Just like in the movie “Scarface” there is an actual drug lord in real life, who is Mexico’s most powerful drug lord and probably the number one most powerful drug lord in the world. Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, escaped from a maximum security prison through a one mile tunnel that opened into the shower area of his cell. It’s like watching the movie “Shawshank Redemption” all over again.
SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO:
“El Chapo” Guzman was re-captured last year, where Mexican officials shrugged off and vowed that Guzman would be able to escape one of the country’s most secured penitentiaries for the second time. Yes, the second time!
A total of eighteen employees from various parts of the prison have been taken in for questioning. A manhunt began immediately late Saturday for the head of the powerful Sinaloa Cartel.
Guzman’s cartel is believed to control most of the major crossing points for drugs at the U.S. border with Mexico. Here is El Chapo’ Guzman being taken into Altiplano prison.
El Chapo was last seen about 9 p.m on Saturday night in the shower area of his prison cell, according to a statement from the National Security Commission. Little while later, he was lost by the prison’s security camera’s. After checking his cell, this is where authorities found the 20-by-20-inch hole in his shower area.
These sewer shafts is what the most notorious drug lord of our era used just days before being captured seven years ago in his first time going to prison.
Here is what former Mexican Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam had to say about concerns of another prison break by Guzman, in which he calmly dismissed. That risk “does not exist,” Murillo Karam said.
The world’s most wanted drug lord is on the loose again. Being a drug kingpin is obviously not an easy task, in fact you probably never get one good day’s rest ever in your life. In the past Guzman has suffered a heart attack and was flown into a private hospital in the state of Jalisco under a fake name.
El Chapo is well-known for his elaborate tunnels his cartel has built underneath the Mexico-U.S. border to transport his drugs. Even in this safe house he has found a way to elude the local authorities with this hidden escape tunnel inside the shower.
According to Forbes magazine, Guzman is worth more than $1 billion and listed him as one of the world’s most powerful people, even ahead of the president of France and Venezuela.
