Derek Jeter Makes History By Passing Honus Wagner For 6th All-time On List

In the first inning against Cleveland Indians, Derek Jeter passes Honus Wagner for 6th all-time on the hit list. It was not the usual opposite field line drive we have been accustomed to seeing from the great Derek Jeter, but this hit will do. It wasn’t a long ball home run like we seen in his 3,000th hit. As you can see in this video Jeter kind of legs out an infield single.

Check out the all-time hits leaderboard:

1. Pete Rose, 4256
2. Ty Cobb, 4191
3. Hank Aaron, 3771
4. Stan Musial, 3630
5. Tris Speaker, 3515
6. Derek Jeter, 3431
7. Honus Wagner, 3430
8. Carl Yastrzemski, 3419
9. Paul Molitor, 3319
10. Eddie Collins, 3314

This was vintage Jeter hit, because he made history on not the flashiest hit we all would have liked to see. But his hit came on a simple infield hit which fits the mold of the “classy” great yankee shortstop just the way he entered the MLB somewhere around two decades ago.
