On July 29th, caught on video a Rohnert Park policer officer pulls his gun out on a pedestrian has gone viral. The Northern California cop who was caught on video drawing his gun on a man who was not accused of a crime has been placed on temporary paid administrative leave.
Rohnert Park local authorities had this to say:
“The city truly believes in community-oriented policing and deeply values the relationship between law enforcement and our community. The incident portrayed on the video is not a typical interaction between our public safety officers and the public,” Assistant City Manager Don Schwartz said in a statement.
Don McComas a Rohnert Park resident says he was in his driveway securing his boat the back of his SUV, when this police officer circled passed him multiple times while driving slowly. At this point, McComas pulled out his cell phone and started recording and the rest you will have to see for yourself.

McComas has hired a lawyer since the incident occurred. Here is what his lawyer had to say:
“What we have here is a situation where an individual was in his driveway hitching his boat, not doing anything and minding his own business,” Beck said. “What we’re saying is no more. No more guns used unnecessarily.”
